The Indian Run Story…
When the United Methodist Church decided in 1981 that there was a need for a new church in Dublin, a historic community with a recent golf course development and lots of potential for future growth, the Indian Run congregation was born. The initial congregation was made up of members of the other area United Methodist Churches, primarily from the Northwest UMC congregation, who were willing to “homestead” a new church. Worshipping first in the barn behind the parsonage, the congregation quickly grew.
Soon the barn was outgrown and they began holding services at a local elementary school. Each week, the pastor would tow a small trailer to the school and the congregation would unload everything needed for the church service. In the fall of 1984, Indian Run dedicated our building near the corner of Brand and Avery Roads.
Since then, the fellowship of Indian Run has continued to grow and we have repeatedly expanded our ministries to meet the needs of our congregation and the community, including the Indian Run Preschool which opened in 1989.
As we continue into God’s future for Indian Run, we are excited for what lies ahead and hope that you will join in sharing to do His work here in Dublin, OH.
INDIAN RUN
We are a Church that believes in Jesus & loves God & people
Welcome! We’re so glad that you’ve made the choice to be with us at Indian Run, where our mission is to “Grow Love in ourselves, our families, our community and the world” The Bible makes it clear that the way of Jesus is the way of Love. That’s why all of our efforts as a church are aligned behind our call to grow love, so that more people will know and follow the way of Jesus. No matter where you are on your journey of faith, we welcome you to be a part of our church family.
You’ll find many different opportunities to connect with God through worship, study, and service here at Indian Run. A wide variety of small group opportunities exist for people of all ages, where you can connect with others who are seeking to live more faithful lives. You can put your faith into action through our mission projects like the Welcome Warehouse and Dublin Food Pantry here in Dublin, New Life Community Outreach in the Short North, Appalachia Service Project in neighboring states, or across th world through our partnerships in Haiti and the Democratic Republic of the Congo. There is always much going on here at Indian Run, you’re invited to participate in any or all of it!
As you get to know our church, I pray that you will find it to be a place where you can come to know the infinite love of God and the abundant life that comes from following Jesus. I look forward to connecting with you on the journey.
